Discover the world of recumbent bicycles!
At the 2026 World Recumbent Championships, we offer a varied programme for open recumbents, velomobiles, trikes, streamliners, tandems, handbikes and, of course, for children (aged 6 to 15). It’s not just speed that counts, but also agility, meeting people, cycling together on a tour, exchanging ideas, trying out different models, and eating and staying overnight together.
Recumbent bicycle & second-hand market

The recumbent bicycle fair on Saturday and Sunday offers a unique opportunity to discover the latest models and innovations in recumbent bicycle technology and accessories. Suppliers of recumbent bicycles, trikes, velomobiles and accessories will be present. See more….
The second-hand exchange fair is perfect for those who want to sell, upgrade or simply exchange their recumbent bicycle. See more….
3-Country Cycling Tour

This unique tour, organised by recumbent bicycle club De Grensrijders, takes participants through the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. It is the perfect opportunity for adventurous lovers of (recumbent) bicycles to push their boundaries, experience the beauty of the landscape and create a sense of community. People on “unusual” bicycles are also welcome! See more…
Children’s competitions

Our Kid’s races are a great opportunity for children (aged 6 to 15) to gain (more) skill in recumbent cycling and enjoy the excitement of doing so in a “competitive” setting. A recumbent bicycle is not mandatory; regular bicycles and scooters are also allowed. Participation is free and, of course, every participant will receive a nice souvenir! You can register at the clubhouse on one of these days or online until 15 March on Saturday and/or Sunday,
Test track

For beginners and those who are curious, there is a special trial circuit where visitors can try out recumbent bicycles. This offers a fun way to get to know the experience of riding a recumbent bicycle.
Eating Together

In addition to the activities, we also provide delicious lunches and pasta buffets for our guests. Breakfast is available at the campsite. To make use of this service, you must register with the accommodation provider. At Watersley, you can have breakfast, lunch and/or dinner. Please register when booking your accommodation in a hostel.

Films and Photo Presentations

To mark our 40th anniversary, we have compiled and screened a number of films and photo productions. These will be shown again in the TDBP clubhouse. They cover the evolution of Human Power Vehicles, the Dutch recumbent bicycle pioneers, the local recumbent bicycle clubs and the N.V.H.P.V.

The Tom Dumoulin Bike Park

We are delighted to be able to use such unique accommodation: the Tom Dumoulin Bike Park in Sittard. We received a warm welcome and were given all the assistance we needed. Thank you very much!
The park has numerous facilities: a new clubhouse with catering facilities, changing rooms and showers, areas for inspecting bikes and storing streamliners, monitors for tracking results, and lockers for storing personal belongings. For small children, there are climbing pyramids and a small cross-country track. There is ample parking space, including in the immediate vicinity. More about that later.
