121 Participants Representing 12 Countries To date, 121 participants from twelve different countries have registered for the various events and competitions of the World Championships.
The final preparations Since November 2025, we have been working on the organization of the 2026 HPV World Championship.After assembling the core team, we have already taken many important steps. We are currently focused on the final preparations to ensure that the World Championship will be a successful event.
Coming soon: World Cup special ‘Ligfiets&’ As the preparations progressed, we increasingly realized that this event offers a unique opportunity to showcase recumbent cycling in all its aspects to a broad audience. For this reason, we are currently putting the finishing touches on a special World Championship edition of Ligfiets&. This one-time edition, published largely in English, will be printed in an expanded circulation and distributed free of charge not only to members, but also to participants, visitors, media representatives, and various relevant organizations and institutions that are visiting or supporting the World Championship.In addition, a digital edition will be made available online, enabling an even wider international audience and interested media outlets to discover the world of recumbent cycling. We would greatly appreciate it if you would share that digital edition within your own network.

Several rooms have already been booked at the Towerhostel at Watersley, and the two campsites are also filling up quickly. If you would like to stay overnight with a large group, you can rent a team house at Watersley. Various crowd-pulling events will be taking place in the vicinity of the Tom Dumoulin Bike Park between 10 and 12 July. This means that accommodation options are in high demand.
If you would like to take advantage of the options we offer at the aforementioned accommodations, you can do so until 15 March. After that date, availability cannot be guaranteed.

Happy New (wc2026) year!
First of all: we wish you a very positive year, with good health as the priority.
And for us recumbent cyclists: a year filled with miles of cycling in beautiful surroundings. We especially wish the speed enthusiasts among us success in (once again) breaking personal or (world) records with their aerodynamic bikes.
The Dutch and Belgian HPV associations are honored to contribute to this by organizing the HPV World Championships in the Netherlands.
The organization is starting with the launch of this special website, where we will share all the information and news about the World Championships with you in the coming year.
We wish everyone the best of luck with their preparations for the World Championships and warmly welcome you (and your families) to Sittard-Geleen and the surrounding area during the World Championships.
